Soul Words: Perseverance

"I'll walk through the rain to get to the sun. I'll climb the hill to get to the top. I'll swim through the ocean to get to the other side. Point is you have to go through trials to get to the success."

Part of persevering is falling down and getting back up. How do you persevere if you never have the opportunity to fall, to really mess up, to fail? It’s in some of the craziest situations, hard-core failures, and head over heels tumbles that your perseverance is tested. Do you get up, put one foot but in front of the other to walk on the path with Jesus? Or do you stay down for the rest of your life, miserable and wallowing in shame?  In 1 John 2:1-2 The Bible says that even when we mess up, our advocate, Jesus himself, is always interceding on our behalf.  We don't have to live in shame because what Easter represents is God completely washing our sins away and viewing us as perfectly righteous. Amen to that!
